Workshop Kit for Trained Facilitators
Background
Designed in 2003 for a state-wide project, the workshop
has been pilot tested with thousands of families.
Workshop goals are:
- Support parents in becoming good
teachers and protectors of their children
- Motivate parents to be aware of
and involved in their children’s daily
experiences
- Help parents promote positive
self-esteem in their children
- Develop good family communication
skills
- Provide safety information to
parents that they can teach according to their
children’s age and stage
- Demystify sexual predators and
create heightened parental awareness and vigilance
