KidWISE Institute’s flagship program is now available as a comprehensive video-based workshop for volunteers and other adults who are new at facilitating adult groups.
Because of the sensitive nature of this workshop, we recommend that volunteer leaders have a background or experience in one of the following fields:

Workshop goals are:
Support parents in becoming good teachers and protectors of their children
Motivate parents to be aware of and involved in their children’s daily experiences.
Help parents promote positive self-esteem in their children
Develop good family communication skills
Provide safety information to parents they can teach according to their children’s age and stage
Demystify sexual predators and create heightened parental awareness and vigilance

How to be a Helpful—not Fearful—Parent
Taking an inventory of safety skills that tests what child knows and identifies what he/she needs to learn
Encouraging children to trust their instincts and act on them
Helping kids identify and resist common lures
"Family Safely Rules" that reduce the chances of a child being victimized
How to promote good family communication and healthy self-esteem
What parents need to know in order to make wise parenting decisions
Learning activities and “teachable moments” that are both practical and fun
