KidWISE was the first organization within the child personal safety education movement to aim its efforts at parents. Since 1993 it has gained national recognition for its positive approach – teaching skills that children can learn, remember, and use; promoting healthy self-esteem; using age appropriate expectations; and creating open, safe communication.
Originally conceived as the groundbreaking prevention program, Raising Careful, Confident Kids in a Crazy World, Out of Harm’s Way(sm) was launched in 2003. Ultimately, the program will reach over half a million children and their families.
In addition, thousands of parents and professionals who have attended this program or workshop at schools, churches, community events, hospitals, as well as state and national conferences, have benefited from its message
Some participant comments:
"I didn’t expect to learn anything new much less be inspired, but your message moved me and gave me a whole new set of skills that I really needed."
"I couldn’t talk to my kids about this subject because it made me uneasy. This program showed me how to do it without being uncomfortable.
"I wish your program had been available twenty years ago . . ."
