A Circle of Safety Around Our Children:
Strengthening the Links that Protect Kids
Attitudes and actions of adults in charge indirectly and sometimes directly protect children from harm at school, home, and in the community. In this thought-provoking session — part presentation, part forum — Paula examines how caring adults have the power to strengthen or weaken the links that form a “Circle of Safety” around children and teens. She demonstrates 5 key ways to step up and step in on children’s behalves and encourages educators and other caring professionals to embrace their roles as trusted, protective adults. Participants will take away new insights and a specific plan for creating stronger links in their Circles of Safety.
